Andersen (Hans Christian, Fairy Tales)

Andersen’s fairy tales are enjoyable for the most part. Some feel a bit overly focused on issues of God, Heaven, and salvation; and some are stories of animals and objects given personality so that he can explore their perspective.

3/4

The story of a woman married to a sultan, sentenced to death in the morning so he can marry again tomorrow. She tells him stories at night, and he must hear the ending. Therefore, she is allowed to live another day so that he can hear the rest.

Dragon Nimbus

2/4

Dragon Nimbus is a trilogy, with the prequel Dragon Nimbus History.

Dragons exist, wizards/magicians exist, and a small kingdom struggles to maintain peace both within and without as enemies try to destroy it. First novel, Glass Dragon.

Eddings, David

2/4

David Eddings has written many books. I have 2 trilogies and 1 five-part.

His stories are almost always grand quests to recover a powerful item, with a group of characters like thief, barbarian, knight, archer, old wise man (magician) or wise god/godess, and a powerful female magician with healing and combat magics.

Villains are associated with red or green, depraved sexual and violent tendencies, and an almost infantile desire to acquire the “ancient power”, which is blue. Villains are idiots.
